Charles K. Thompson
Chairman of the Board and Interim Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Thompson serves as the Chairman of our Board of Directors and as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Thompson is currently a Managing Partner of PinHigh Capital Partners, a Houston-based family office affiliated investment partnership with a focus on smaller private oil service and exploration and production (“E&P”) investments. Mr. Thompson spent two years at Nomura Securities building the oil and gas investment banking business. From 2004 to 2014 he was an original partner of Legacy Partners Group, a boutique mergers and acquisitions firm based in New York that was sold to FBR Capital Markets (“FBR”) in the fall of 2007. Mr. Thompson remained at FBR to run the energy investment banking practice where the focus was small cap oil service and E&P mergers and acquisitions and capital raising. From 1995 to 2003, he worked at CSFB in the energy investment banking group. Mr. Thompson began his career as a commercial banker at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. He holds a B.A. in geology from Williams College and attended Columbia Business School.
Edward A. Lang
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Principal Financial Officer
Edward A. Lang serves as the Company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and principal financial officer. Mr. Lang, age 61, has over 30 years of experience in treasury management, investor relations, risk management, tax planning and compliance, and other corporate finance matters. Prior to joining the Company, he served as Senior Vice President – Finance of Republic Services, Inc. (“Republic”) from December 2008 to June 2015, and prior to that as Vice President – Treasurer of Republic from October 1998 to December 2008. Republic is a Fortune 500 company, traded on the New York Stock Exchange, and is the second-largest service provider in the domestic non-hazardous solid waste industry. Prior to his service at Republic, Mr. Lang served for over nine years in various corporate finance and treasury positions at the Dole Food Company, including two years as Vice President – Treasurer. Mr. Lang is a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a B.S. in Real Estate Finance, and he also holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Information Systems from Indiana University.
Joseph M. Crabb
Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Crabb serves as our Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. He joined Nuverra in 2014 with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of corporate finance securities reporting, corporate governance, and merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions. He previously was with Squire Sanders LLP as a partner and group leader of the corporate practice group in the firm’s Phoenix office. While at Squire Sanders, Mr. Crabb acted as Nuverra’s outside counsel and assisted the Company with key initiatives related to corporate finance; merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions; corporate governance; and litigation, among other projects. Earlier he was a partner in the Phoenix office of Quarles & Brady LLP. Mr. Crabb received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Iowa, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law.
Stephen K. London
Vice President of Business Development
Mr. London serves as our Vice President for Business Development with overall responsibility for new and organic business expansion opportunities, as well as national sales and marketing efforts. He joined Nuverra in 2014 following 34 years with Halliburton in a variety of roles, including Account Vice President based in the company’s Houston office, Regional Sales Manager in Indonesia and Asia Business Development Manager in Malaysia. During his tenure with Halliburton, Mr. London led global expansion and account management efforts for select major accounts, and was responsible for the pursuit, growth and maintenance of key business relationships. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, for which he has chaired and served on numerous boards and committees. Mr. London received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Vice President, Corporate Controller & Chief Accounting Officer
Mr. Hilgendorf is our Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and is responsible for all accounting and external financial reporting responsibilities of the Company. Before joining Nuverra in 2013, he was most recently the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting for Starwood Hotels & Resorts since 2004. Previously, Mr. Hilgendorf held a variety of finance and accounting roles with The Dial Corporation and ISC, Inc., both publicly traded corporations. He began his career as an Audit and Assurance Manager with the Big Four accounting firm of Ernst & Young in Los Angeles. Mr. Hilgendorf is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona.
